如何區(qū)別引導(dǎo)名詞從句的whether與that
__________ we'll go camping tomorrow depends on the weather.
A. If B. Whether C. That D. When
用whether (不用if)排除A。
If he will come is a question.
正:Whether he will come is a question.
1. a. That we'll hold a meeting is decided.
b. Whether we'll hold a meeting is not decided.
2. a. That he has left here is clear.
b. Whether he has left here is not clear.
3. a. That he can finish it in two hours is clear.
b. Whether he can finish it in two hours is a question. that與whether (if)引導(dǎo)名詞性從句的區(qū)別
Whether he'll come is not known yet.
That he'll come is known to us all.
I doubt if you are honest.
I don't doubt that you are honest.
__________ he said at the meeting astonished everyone present.
A.What B. That C. If D. Whether
選項(xiàng) C(if) 顯然不能選因?yàn)?if 通常不能引導(dǎo)主語從句選項(xiàng) B(that) 和 D(whether) 雖然都可以引導(dǎo)主語從句但兩者除了意思不合題意外還有它們在主語從句中都不充當(dāng)句子成分而此句中的 he said 缺賓語。
I don't know what he gave her.
What he will say at the meeting is not known to us.
Show me what you bought.
→Show me the thing that you bought.
This is what he wants.
→This is the thing that he wants.
What we need is money.
→The thing that we need is money.
I suggested (that) they should drive along the coast.
I hoped (that) I would / should succeed.
I know (that) he will be in time.
He thinks (that) they will give him a visa.
I expect (that) the plane will he diverted.
She answered that she preferred to eat alone.
I don't wish to imply that you are wrong.
The newspapers have implied that they are having an affair.
The dealer told me how much he was prepared to pay for my car and that f could have the money without delay.
