不定式被動(dòng)式作狀語(yǔ)的用法

1. 表原因

I was very glad to be invited. 我很高興被邀請(qǐng)。

I'm pleased to have been given this opportunity. 給了我這次機(jī)會(huì)我很高興。

2. 表目的

I had to shout to be heard. 我必須叫喊對(duì)方才能聽(tīng)得見(jiàn)。

She was sent to England to be educated. 她被送到英國(guó)去受教育。

As she waited to be served, she became very impatient. 她在等候侍者送飯時(shí)，很不耐煩。(G12)

3. 表結(jié)果

You were lucky not to be killed. 你大難不死，真是好運(yùn)氣。

I had to shout to be heard. 我必須叫喊對(duì)方才能聽(tīng)得見(jiàn)。

注意以下特殊結(jié)構(gòu)：

(1) only to be done結(jié)構(gòu)

He has returned only to be sent away again. 他回來(lái)后又被打發(fā)走了。

She got there only to be told that they had gone on holiday. 她到達(dá)那里，被告知他們度假去了。

(2) too…to…結(jié)構(gòu)

The case was too heavy to be carried by a child. 箱子太重小孩拿不動(dòng)。

He was too young to be entrusted with such a task. 他年紀(jì)太輕不宜委以這樣的任務(wù)。

(3) so as to結(jié)構(gòu)

He shut himself in the room so as not to be disturbed. 他把自己關(guān)在屋里以免受到打擾。
