- accept的基本意思是“接受”,如接受禮物、邀請(qǐng)、好意、批評(píng)、建議、接納為成員等等。引申可表示“承認(rèn); 同意; 認(rèn)可; 相信”,如答應(yīng)某些條件、相信某種解釋、相信某事屬實(shí)、認(rèn)同某種理論、承擔(dān)責(zé)任、容忍或忍受困境等等。在商業(yè)用語(yǔ)中accept則表示“承兌; 接受(某種付款方式)”。
- accept具有明顯的主觀色彩,不僅客觀上“接”,而且更主要的是主觀上的“受”。accept某人的勸說(shuō)或者建議時(shí)表示你情愿地按照他們的勸說(shuō)或建議去做; accept令人不愉快的情形時(shí)表示你認(rèn)識(shí)到這是不能改變的、必須接受的現(xiàn)實(shí),即含不情愿和勉強(qiáng)之意。
