常用用法
- concern的基本意思是“與…有關(guān)”,指人〔物,事物〕之間的聯(lián)系與影響,引申可指“關(guān)心”“關(guān)切”“使擔憂”“使煩惱”。
- concern作“與…有關(guān)”解時是及物動詞,接名詞、代詞或名詞從句作賓語?？捎糜诒粍咏Y(jié)構(gòu)。
- concern作“擔心”“掛念”解時,主語一般是人,常與介詞about, for或over連用。
- concern常與指人的反身代詞連用,表示“關(guān)心,關(guān)注”，其后常接介詞about, in或with。
- concern后可接由that, where或how等關(guān)系代詞引導的從句。
- concern的過去分詞concerned在句中常作后置定語。
- so far as ... is/are concerned，as far as ... is/are concerned，so far as concerns和as concerns都是“就...而言”的意思。注意后兩種表達中concerns用復數(shù)不用單數(shù)；
- concern to后加不同動詞有不同目的。He was concerned to hear of her ill health. to hear表示原因He was concerned to improve her health. to improve表示目的
- concern后加不同介詞時，表示不同意思。He was concerned about the matter. 他為了這件事關(guān)心或擔心。He was concerned in the matter. 他參與了這件事。He was concerned with the matter. 他跟這件事有關(guān)。
- be concerned with常與concern意思相同，concerned with常與concerning意思相同。下面兩句子意思一樣：The story is concerned with a national hero. 這個故事牽涉到一個民族英雄。
- concerned等于that is concerned或who are concerned，如everybody concerned (每個有關(guān)的人)，all concerned (有關(guān)各方) 和the department concerned (有關(guān)部門）。注意that is不可寫出；
- your concern for me意為“你對于我的關(guān)懷”，your concern over me 意為“你對于我的擔心”；
- To whom it may concern或To Whom It May Concern用在不指明收信者是誰的信里，當作稱呼語。這種信通常沒有Yours，turely等信尾客套語。 返回 concern

詞語辨析
- 這組詞在含糊地指那些所做的事時意義相近,常可互換。例如：
- It is a regretful affair〔business, concern, matter, thing〕.這是一件遺憾的事。
- I don't talk to her about private affairs〔business, concerns, matters, things〕.我從不和她談私事。
- 它們之間的區(qū)別在于：
- 1.從模糊程度上看, affair＜matter＜thing, thing的詞義最不確切,?？捎迷谟幸馐垢拍詈觳磺宓膱龊?。例如：
- How did you find things in America?你覺得美國怎樣?
- 2.從含義上看, affair強調(diào)運行或操作過程,如一道程序,一筆交易,一個行動,一項事業(yè)等。business強調(diào)職責關(guān)系,例如：
- It is her business to take good care of the baby.看護好這個嬰兒是她的職責。
- concern強調(diào)利害相關(guān),例如：
- It is no concern of mine.此事與我無關(guān)。
- matter強調(diào)必須考慮和處理,例如：
- We have a lot of matters to do.我們有許多事情要做。
- thing則是一般用語,口語中常表示說話內(nèi)容預先未考慮好或說話者力圖掩飾自己的觀點,例如：
- I've another thing to talk with you.我還有一件事跟你說。
- 3.從用法上看, business不能用復數(shù),而affair在指重大的或頭緒較多的事務時則需要用復數(shù)。
- 4.從搭配范圍上看,與foreign、international、state等詞連用時只能用affair,在短語have an affair with sb (與某人有不正當男女關(guān)系)中也只能用affair。在指商業(yè)上的生意和活動或指“公事”“正事”時只能用business,例如：
- It's a pleasure to do business with you.很高興和你做生意。
- Business before pleasure.公事比娛樂要緊。
- 口語中作“出了毛病”“失常”解時,只能用matter而不能用affair和business,例如：
- What's the matter with you?你怎么啦?
- 在泛指“東西”“物品”時,用affair和thing均可。例如：
- And these Tubes were convenient things〔affairs〕.而這地下鐵道是非常方便的東西。
- 二者均可表示“關(guān)心”,有時可換用。其區(qū)別在于:
- 1.care后一般接介詞for, concern后一般接for, about或at。例如:
- He showed no care〔concern〕 for others.他對別人漠不關(guān)心。
- He does not show much concern about it.他對那事不太關(guān)心。
- He expressed much concern at the news.他對這條消息十分關(guān)心。
- 2.care可表示“小心”,而concern無此義。例如:
- Great care should be exercised in the matter.對這件事應特別慎重。
- 3.concern后接with或in表利害關(guān)系,而care無此用法。例如:
- I have no concern with〔in〕 this business.我與這事不相干。

- 1.care for主要用于人,且多用于口語中。例如:

- 2.be concerned about 既可用于人,也可用于物,多用于書面語中。例如:

- affair含義較廣，側(cè)重指已發(fā)生或必須去做的任何事情或事務。復數(shù)形式多指重大或較復雜的事務。
- business通常指較重要或較難而又必須承擔的事情，也可指商事。
- matter普通用詞，著重指一件考慮中的或需要處理的事。
- concern往往強調(diào)與個人或團體利害有直接或重大關(guān)系的事。
- thing用作“事情”解時，詞義較籠統(tǒng)、含糊，多用于指不很具體的事。
- 這些名詞均含“焦慮、關(guān)心”之意。
- anxiety指對預料中的不祥之事的焦慮。
- worry側(cè)重對未知事態(tài)演變的憂慮。
- care強調(diào)因出于責任感或顧慮等而產(chǎn)生的不安。
