- nature的基本意思是“大自然,自然界”,包含各種生物及山脈、河流等一切自然世界,宇宙萬物,并包含一切自然過程,是不可數(shù)名詞,其前不能加定冠詞。
- nature作“本性,性情,性質(zhì)”解時,可以用來表示物的“本質(zhì),特征,性質(zhì)”,用作不可數(shù)名詞,也可用來指人或動物的“天性脾氣,性格”等,可用作可數(shù)名詞,也可用作不可數(shù)名詞。
- nature作“類型,種類”解時,用于單數(shù)形式,可與不定冠詞連用。
- in nature用于疑問句、否定句或包含最高級的句子中,以加強語氣,表示“在世界上,究竟,事實上”。
