常用用法

這組詞都可表示“驕傲的”“傲慢的”。其區(qū)別是：
1.proud常指對取得的成功或榮譽所感到的自豪; haughty指看不起人或目中無人; conceited指一個人過分地贊賞自己,不屑于與他人往來。
2.proud既可用于貶義,又可用于褒義,而haughty和conceited只能用于貶義。例如:
She is a haughty girl.她是一個高傲的女孩。
The nobles used to treat the common people with haughty contempt.貴族在過去慣于傲慢和輕蔑地對待平民。
