stay的基本意思是“保持同樣狀態(tài)或者停留在同一地方”,可指人或使人等停留、居住、留宿、暫住某處或某段時間,也可指人、天氣等保持某種狀態(tài)。
stay作“停留,停止”解時,可用作不及物動詞,也可用作及物動詞。用作及物動詞時接名詞或代詞作賓語。
stay作“繼續(xù)處于某種狀態(tài)”解時,可用作系動詞,接名詞、形容詞或過去分詞作表語。
