用法辨析
- think的基本意思是“想,思索”,指使一件事情在頭腦中不斷地浮現(xiàn)或使這件事保持這種浮現(xiàn)的狀態(tài),可以表示“想”的動作,也可以表示“想”的狀態(tài)。還可指“以為,認(rèn)為”,指某事在頭腦中形成一個固定的概念,即“想”的結(jié)果。think還有“想象”“想起”“打算”等意思。作“料想,想象”解時,通常用于否定句,不用于被動結(jié)構(gòu),且常與can〔could〕連用。think在口語中,尤其是美式英語中還可表示“朝…方面想”或“專想(某件事)”。
- think可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,后接同源名詞、代詞、動詞不定式、帶有疑問詞的動詞不定式或that/wh-從句作賓語。接動詞不定式作賓語時,多用于否定句或疑問句中。

- think是表示思維活動的動詞,常用于轉(zhuǎn)移否定結(jié)構(gòu),即形式上是否定主句的謂語動詞think,但意思卻是否定從句的謂語動詞。
- To think that ...意為“沒想到”“竟然”,Who would have thought ...表示“誰會想到”, wouldn't〔couldn't, shouldn't〕 think of表示“絕不能考慮〔想象〕”,這三個詞組都表示因事先未料到某事而感到驚訝。
