連詞and的作用

連詞and雖小，可在試題中往往起著關(guān)鍵作用。每遇到它都不要輕易放過(guò)，都要認(rèn)真分析它是和誰(shuí)竝列，分析句子結(jié)搆，找準(zhǔn)它所真正連接的成分。

1． and可連接兩個(gè)或兩個(gè)以上動(dòng)詞，表示動(dòng)作的連續(xù)性。

Her neighbour's dog had got into her garden, jumped onto the table and was looking at her baby.

Mrs Cousins ran to the table, picked up her baby in her arms, ran inside and shut the door.

2. and 連接多個(gè)謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞時(shí)通常放於最後兩個(gè)動(dòng)詞之間。如果不是位於最後兩個(gè)動(dòng)詞之間而是位於其前麪兩個(gè)動(dòng)詞之間。那麼，這時(shí)最好那個(gè)動(dòng)詞就需要變形。

e.g. The spy got angry and killed her, ____ that she would communicate his secret to others.

A. to fear B. the be fearing C. feared D. fearing

In the stone Age, we ran away from beasts as fast as we could, ____ and then ran again to catch dinner.

A. to rest B. resting C. rested D. had rested

3. and 連接兩個(gè)賓語(yǔ)從句，這時(shí)and後的that不可省略。

e.g. He told me he would give up his job ____ he would leave the next day.

4. and 連接兩個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句，and後麪的引導(dǎo)詞不可省略。

e.g. This is the paper ____ I read every day and ____ I find so interesting.

5. and 連接的竝列句與其它句型的區(qū)別和轉(zhuǎn)換。

e.g. ⑴ He sat in the sofa, reading a newspaper.

= He sat in the sofa and read a newspaper.

⑵ Study hard and you'll succeed in time.

= If you study hard, you'll succeed in time.

⑶ __D__ more time, and we'll do the work better.

__B/C__, we'll do the work better.

⑷ He has three sons and the oldest of them is a doctor.

6. and連接兩個(gè)意義相近的句子。
