tend,tens,tent = to stretch（伸）

tend,tens,tent這三個爲(wèi)同源異形根，tend來源於拉丁動詞tendere, 意爲(wèi)to stretch（伸開，伸長，延伸）；tens和tent都是這個拉丁動詞的動名詞詞乾（tendere有兩個動名詞形式:tensum和tentum），主要用來搆成相應(yīng)的名詞和形容詞。

1.contend （con<com(=together) + tend(=stretch)相互拉扯，共同伸取某物 --->）
