用法辨析
- 在指“不久就要……”時，後通常接不定式，如about to start。也有接動名詞，如about starting。但是不可再加表示時間的詞，如不可說about starting at once；
- 指“大約”的意思時，表達方式有about ten，about half等。注意ten和half都是明確的數(shù)量，about不該用在“多少不定”的詞前，如about more than ten，about less than half；
- 與at搭配使用時，about是副詞，沒有at時，about 是介詞。句中可有at，也可沒有，意思相同。I went (at) about five (o'clock).
- about + 不定式，表示“即將要去做某事”。Don't go out now - we're about to have lunch.
