ahead的基本意思是“在前面”，指空間、時間、位置超前，也可指關(guān)系“超過”“比…強”。ahead雖譯為“在前”，但其含義有時卻指“以后”，即“到將來”。
ahead常修飾動詞，在句中作狀語, 也可修飾名詞或名詞性短語，在句中作后置定語。
ahead還可作表語，后面接介詞in時表示“在某方面領(lǐng)先”; 后面接介詞of時表示“在前，優(yōu)于，面臨著”。
ahead不用于比較等級。
ahead在指“在前”時，是表達了將來的一個時間，未發(fā)生的，指“以后”。I have a very busy day ahead of me. 我接下去的這一天會很忙。
