ahead的基本意思是“在前麪”，指空間、時間、位置超前，也可指關(guān)系“超過”“比…強(qiáng)”。ahead雖譯爲(wèi)“在前”，但其含義有時卻指“以後”，即“到將來”。
ahead常脩飾動詞，在句中作狀語, 也可脩飾名詞或名詞性短語，在句中作後置定語。
ahead還可作表語，後麪接介詞in時表示“在某方麪領(lǐng)先”; 後麪接介詞of時表示“在前，優(yōu)於，麪臨著”。
ahead不用於比較等級。
