hope的用法

1、表示希望，期望；信心。

The car was smashed beyond any hope of repair.

汽車(chē)被撞爛了，脩複無(wú)望。

But Kevin hasn't given up hope of being fit...

但凱文仍沒(méi)有放棄康複的希望。

2、被寄予希望的人（或事物）。

You are my only hope.

你是我唯一的希望。

3、希望，盼望，期望，期待

I hope that he will succeed.

我期望他會(huì)成功。

I hope to see you and your family soon.

我期待不久能見(jiàn)到你和你的家人。

4、認(rèn)爲(wèi)，相信

The holiday was beyond all expectations, ie better than was hoped for.

假日過(guò)得比預(yù)期的好得多。

1.從說(shuō)話語(yǔ)氣上看，hope 用於表示可能實(shí)現(xiàn)的事情，後接從句時(shí)，用陳述語(yǔ)氣。如：

I hope I shall see him again. 我希望再見(jiàn)他一次。

I hope you haven't hurt yourself. 但願(yuàn)你沒(méi)有受傷。

2. 從含義上看，hope 多用於指對(duì)好事的盼望、預(yù)想;對(duì)壞事的預(yù)想則多用“I'm afraid...”。如：

I hope it will be fine tomorrow. 我希望明天天氣好。

I'm afraid it will rain again. 恐怕還要下雨。

3. 從時(shí)間上看，hope 所希望的一般指將來(lái)或現(xiàn)在的事情，不用於指過(guò)去的事情。如：

I hope he will come. 我希望他會(huì)來(lái)。

4. 從句型上看，hope 可用hope to do sth句型，而不能用hope sb to do sth句型。如：

I hope to watch the football match again. 我希望再看一次那場(chǎng)足球賽。

而不說(shuō)：I hope you to go. 最後，儅你要表示“希望如此。”時(shí)，就說(shuō)“I hope so.”其否定形式用“I hope not.”。hope 一般不用於進(jìn)行時(shí)。

5. hope後麪還可以接that 從句，意爲(wèi)“希望……；能……就好了”。如：

She hopes that I will pass the exam. 她希望我能通過(guò)考試。
